Why attend the HA Conference?
We are delighted to be hosting the HA Conference 2025 at the Hilton Liverpool City Centre. The HA Conference offers an extremely strong line up of workshops and lectures, visits, keynotes and social aspects, to meet your needs whether you are a teacher looking for CPD and support or someone who has a love of history and wants to expand your knowledge. The HA Conference has something to offer and will inspire you whatever your needs.
Leading subject experts
As always, the HA Conference attracts expert speakers from across the history community, including leading historians in their field. At the 2025 Conference, we are pleased to welcome Diarmaid MacCulloch and Matt Cook as our keynote speakers. Michael Riley will deliver the Dawson Lecture and Alex Walsham, HA President and Professor of Modern History at the University of Cambridge, will open the Conference.
High-quality content
The Conference programme is designed to meet the key issues affecting the history community. It includes a great line-up of speakers and sessions on a range of historical periods and themes, as well as visits and walking tours.
For those in schools, there are opportunities to develop your subject knowledge, curriculum thinking and pedagogy in a subject-specific way, with a strong emphasis in the programme on inclusive approaches.
