About us
The Historical Association is the national charity for history and our mission is to support the history of all for all. We support the teaching, learning and enjoyment of history at all levels and bring together people who share an interest in and love for the past. We seek to provide engaging and thought-provoking journals, films, podcasts, in person digital talks and short courses, covering a huge range of historical topics and approaches – from practical courses designed for those new to teaching or taking their next career steps, to immersive and rigorous explorations of different aspects, places and periods of history.
Membership provides our main income and enables us to support our subject and to help schools and teachers to enthuse and engage future generations with a love and understanding of a complex, challenging and changing world. Membership also drives and supports our outreach work with adults who want to further their enjoyment of history and explore new approaches and topics.
